Stewart Back On Top!

The 2009 AMA Supercross series blew through The Big Easy on Saturday night, and Red Bull’s James Stewart returned to his winning ways with a convincing wire-to-wire victory in front of 37,000 screaming New Orleans fans! After giving up his share of the points lead thanks to crashes at the last two rounds of the series, Stewart knew that he had put himself in a must-win situation heading into New Orleans. “I got a great start,” James commented after the race. “That’s a must right now with how well Chad [Reed] is riding. I had to win tonight… Point blank! I have to take home the wins every weekend to get those lost points back.” Take home the win James did, and he did so in dominant fashion! Setting the fastest lap times throughout the entire event, Stewart cruised to a seemingly easy heat race win, and than proceeded to dominate the main event, leading every single lap en route to his eighth victory of the season! Stay tuned for another race recap, as the series heads to Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis next Saturday night!

Stewart Battles Adversity In Daytona

The highly anticipated Daytona Supercross rolled through Daytona Beach, Florida, on Saturday night, as the AMA Supercross series’ contenders unleashed another spectacular round of action! Entering the event tied in the championship points chase, Red Bull’s James Stewart was looking to collect his eighth win on the season, a feat that would effectively propel him back into the series points lead.

Despite looking fast and flawless as he took another convincing heat race win to kick off the evening, however, James quickly ran into bad luck to start the main event, as he lost the front end of his San Manuel Yamaha on the slick Daytona grass entering turn one. Going down hard and getting battered by every rider that smacked him from behind, Stewart remounted, but with the visor missing from his Red Bull-painted helmet and his factory Yamaha visibly hammered, it was clear that he had his work cut out for him. Mounting a charge from dead last place, well behind the leaders, James put his head down as he did everything in his power to battle back toward the front. By the wave of the checkers, Stewart had piloted his machine all the way up to an impressive seventh-place position, limiting the points damage as much as humanly possible. Stay tuned as the series heads to New Orleans this coming weekend, and James looks to return to his wining ways!
