Tough Break Yields A Second In St. Louis

After a convincing win last weekend in New Orleans, James looked to kick off another win streak in his efforts to reel the championship points lead back in, but a costly mistake in St. Louis’ Edward Jones Dome on Saturday night relegated the speedy Floridian to second. “I accidentally hit neutral as I came out of the whoops before the step up,” James told us after the race. “It’s just one of those things that happens from time to time, but obviously when leading the main event is the worst time for mistakes.”

James looked to have the main event win well within his grasp after passing Chad Reed for the lead on lap four. After opening up a comfortable gap over second, however, the mis-shift into neutral on lap 15 left him on the ground in a hurry, allowing Reed back by to take the win. “I feel like I keep giving these wins away, but Chad has been riding very well, and he’s done a great job of putting himself in contention every weekend. I just need to keep working hard during the week to give myself the opportunity to take this thing all the way to Vegas.” Stay tuned, as the series rolls north to Toronto this coming weekend.

hi guyss, good luck bubba from spain, I saw only once in mxdn in england 06, i have one photo with your father “big james”. You are the best in the world.

  12. mxvet77 says:

James we all know you’re the fastest racer out there right now. I would love to see you do the same thing you did in the nationals to Chad. Let him pass you, but instead of just passing him right back, just follow him a little while. Maybe show him a wheel here and there, but just to let him know you’re there. Maybe pressure him into a mistake. If not then just pass him again and walk away. Anyway take it to the house because we want to see you hoist that big #1 in Las Vegas Baby!

I love seeing the drama unfold each week. Thats why we race, when you have to work hard and wins don’t come easy those are the seasons that will harden you to become a true champion.
I was super bored watching RC win every weekend I sure wasn’t going to shell out my hard earned money to see a race I already new the outcome. I thought it was great when you came in the 450 class the easy ride was over for RC and the work and mind games begun, That was racing!

Yes I am supporting you this season 100% but lets not hate on other riders any who can compete at this level works hard and desreves respect.

    • David says:

“Fuzz”. I think you need to step back and respect the one of a kind people Ricky, James, Jeramy, ETC. really are. AND its a blessing to get to watch someone that fast. Besides, james wins everytime he doesent fall, like RICKY!!!!!! So were are you coming from anyways. And well im here, GO JAMES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! KICK that Ausrialians ass back to his country. Your for sure with out a doubt, the fastest man to ever ride motocross. BIG FAN< GOD BLESS!!!!!!!!!!

  20. Marty Oehlhof says:

dude…when you passed Reed in the corner (St. Louis)–you were FLYING…That was the best pass I’ve seen in a long time. It was on a 45-degree angle, absolutely sick.

keep up the good work and can’t wait to watch the rest of the series-i think you’re about to close it out with another streak of #1’s…Best of luck on your championship run!

  21. Lewdawg says:

I just booked four spots at NY NY in Vegas and threw down for the air to get there, so uma take that statement you made on the box (”this will go all the way to Vegas”) as a promise…

Keep on rockin in the real world! See ya in the pits.

      P.S. That Answer gear suits you :^}

  30. Dan Chamberlin says:

    James,

You are so exciting to watch and I feel like I am on a roller coaster when I see you live. I was at the race in St. Louis. Of course, I was devastated when you went down. I was praying for you so you would not get hurt at that point on the step on.

What makes you a great racer (and the eventual 2009 champion I believe) is that you don’t give in or give up. The annoucers seem to forget that fact about you. I have seen you get hit (like by Josh Hill) and run over, etc. and you amazingly get going again and in quick fashion. The fans come out to see you period !

I hope to see you in Las Vegas as the Champion ! You will do this and keep strong !

  31. Kevin says:

Sorry about the fall in St. Louis, i bet that hurt. this website is crazy, my little brother always askes me if you have a yoshimura pipe and muffler and i tell him i dont know, but now that i have seen it, i can tell him. keep up the hard work, i no you can get back up in the points lead.

  32. Andrew says:

I’ve followed supercross for many years. You are the most naturally gifted rider the world has ever known. You have taken supercross to a new lever. There are no riders that can match your ability and speed. It is now time to win out and take another title that you deserve!

  33. JESTWAG says:

YOU GOTTA WIN THE REMAINING RACES NOW, HOMES…… YOU CAN DO IT !!!! YOU’VE DONE IT BEFORE….
    WE’RE PULL’N FOR YA….. TAKE NO PRISONERS & GIVE NOTHING BACK ! ! ! ! L8R….. WAG. peace out.

  38. cary spellman says:

We just went to the St Louis supercross with tickets and pit passes. My kids wanted your
autograph so we stood in line. After 2 1/2 hours standing with our kids a guy came out
and handed out tickets for autographs. Before he started there was a proper line but but people came late and started shoving in and starting another line. I went and talked to two St Louis security guards about it and they woudnt do anything they said that it was up to your
security guard. He gave us the runaroud also. When the guy started to hand them out we
also tried to tell him but he ignored us also. So what happened was the tallest people
shoved in and got the tickets and the ones that stood there for hours didnt get anything. We were about next in line.We walked away with our 11 year old crying and dissapointed after all that wait. You need a different system of handing out tickets so this doesent happen again. How about handing out the tickets first thing so you dont spend hours in line?

  39. Mel #227 says:

I know you can do this bro.
You’re tha man. And that’s never gonna change!
