Check out James on ESPN’s E:60-4/28, 7p.m. ET
Don’t forget to set your TiVo for James Stewart’s first-ever profile on ESPN’s award-winning primetime newsmagazine, E:60. The piece will profile Stewart in an episode airing Tuesday, April 28, at 7 p.m. ET. E:60, which launched in October 2007, combines investigative reporting, in-depth profiles of intriguing sports personalities and features on emerging star athletes. The following is from ESPN’s press release:
“Stewart is often called the “Tiger Woods” of his sport and is arguably the most dominant athlete in competition today. The first African-American in history to win a major motorsports title, Stewart has not only broken numerous records, he has broken racial barriers as well. He now earns more than $10 million annually and is on the verge of winning his second AMA Supercross championship.
But Stewart’s rise to the top was not easy. His father collected cans to help pay for his son’s racing. And James had to come to terms with being different, both in the all-black neighborhood where he grew up and on the all-white racetracks where he competed. Now one of the most popular riders in Supercross, Stewart for the first time talks openly with E:60’s Michael Smith about the racism he has endured at the racetrack. On the track, he wins with a style all his own, and off the track, he hasn’t forgotten where he came from.”

Been going to outdoors since 88, just listened to larry brooks interview-never heard anyone talk so much BS & say everyone else is talking BS, still not fessen up to the KC scam, loose the old city slicker ways, couse MX fans are true people & aint gonna fall for that shit-& as far as wanting to know who these people are my nick name has been T-DOG since the 80’s & my email add. is my name(tjblakley@yahoo.com) so let me if you need someone to let you know how to make the correct desision & wat makes a person true, this sport is one of the most respectful in the world-it dont need that shit! Heard ya fumble & stumble around the facts all interview(let me get this streight couse i never heard nothen bout stewart only racing superX before) are u saying u gonna call him the fastest man on the planet-but he’s never racing an outdoor again? thats wat i heard-u claimed his excuse for not racing the outdoors is so u could lengthen his career for superX, talk bout chicken shit BS. Team & Rider-pass the torch with respect like RC & Mcgrath did! & quit worring bout breaken records(couse it aint gonna happen anyway)-just ride the bike like every other rider & loose the attitude that u need to be better than everyone else couse i hate to tell ya-your not- no matter how fast u are(especually wen the young guns are getting just as fast!) Leave the polatics out of it! Dont ruin this sport like all others have been!
ALL these comments are a fine example how poeple believe wat they wanna believe & see wat they wanna see, theres always enough words to justify anything even though we all know inside thats not that way it was ( those old stratigies are to the end of there rope) its time to face facts & be true to are selves, life is the way it is(or goes) trying to play god means your fighting god, i’m willing to take on any battle but that one, nobody wins that battle.
I think both riders are the best this sport has ever seen. However, Stewart is UNBELIVABLE. I reall don’t think chissom tried to take out chad (he almost ran in to James as well). He could have easly T-boned chad and take him out if he really wanted to. I just think he was trying to hard and was going to fast on the inside and could not really stop over the mud. If you recorded the race, please keep looking at it and see what i am talking about. he was in the mud and could not slow down. he was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
I guess team honda needs to get a black flag for taking out chad at the start two weeks ago. LOL……………
I really think chad should have gotton black flag for trying to take out james. Now, that was very obvious. James rode an awsome and very clean race and made a great and clean pass each and everypass.
Great job.
No doubt that James Stewart is an excellent rider. Too bad he felt that he had to resort to such dirty tactics to secure a win. Anyone with any sense can see what is going on simply by watching the Chisholm “takeout” in slow motion. KC even pulls off to check to see where Reed was before the attempted take down! It a disgrace to the sport of supercross and hopefully San Man Yam paid KC big for that one because he may have put his career on the line for his teamate. Stewart’s face after race says it all - the win doesn’t feel as good when you cheat, does it James?
Own up and even it up before Vegas or don’t cry when someone takes you out!
aey man to that! thats tellin it like it is!
Way go bro u already know what time it is in Vegas, do ur thing.
CHAD TRIED TO TAKE JAMES OUT FIRST ANYWAY SO BE IT
Nice hat James!!! watch for the Alessi squad in Vegas, I’m sure the sniveling Aussie is putting together some scheme to take you out.
BB your so FOS! Chisolm lost his foot and missed the brake… if you look he almost took James out first… the kid isn’t gonna go out there when James clearly has the lead and cause a crash… if there was any riddin dirty it was Chad… the FIM would have ruled it incidental if it were any other rider.
Wipe those tears Chad there’s still one more chance,,, In Hell
VEGAS BAYBEEEEE
James, u betta watch that d… punk azz Reed. He is definitely cumin 4 ya! His last comment says it all, about playing dirty and bringing it on. If anyone so much as brushes up against u next week in Vegas, I am sure that Reed will be behind it. He already admitted it 2 everyone that he is going 2 try something. I don’t know y Reed was so mad. He knows he can’t beat Stewart. He only wins if Stewart goes down. Ride Bubba Ride!!! Stay on 2 wheelz & u got dis!!!!!
I just watched da race on DVR. I rewinded it a few times. It does appear that maybe Chissom tried a lil 2 hard to go up against Reed. I don’t think he was very good at it since he almost took u out 2. Chissom may have tried 2 help Stewart out, but he didn’t need any help. It didn’t seem to be a big deal to the commentators or anyone else that Reed tried to take Stewart out when he cut him off and made him run n2 da blocks. Then again it never is for them.
Hi James. I just saw the SLC race and I am a Reed fan, but you won that race fair and square. Yes, Chisolm tried to take Chad out, it was painfully obvious, but I am sure that had nothing to do with you and in all honesty, from what I saw, it did not slow Reed down any. It looked bad for Yamaha and Chisolm, but like I said, you won the race clean so keep your head high bro.
ok ”basically” James has reeds old bike and machanic and still beats reed hands down ,clean, not dirty like sending people into tough blocks like reed did to him but thats ok , reed has been pulling that kind of stuff all season, reed cant beat him clean never has never will, good job James the rest off the season is yours .
James why aren’t you doing the outdoors? Chads doing it because you’re not!!! CMON!!! Once again an ACCIDENTAL CHAMPION!!! Throw it down again james!! SEMPER FI
already got it ..thanks for the update thou
Stewart didn’t tell Chissom 2 try and take out Reed. Stewart wudda beat Reed n e wayz! Besides Reed is juz lookin 4 an x-cuse 4 anotha loss. Don’t worry Reed fanz & don’t be mad. 2nd place is just the 1st LOSER!!!!!! LMAO!!! C U N Vegas, baby!!!
