James Takes Win Number 11 In SLC!

The AMA Supercross series made its return to Salt Lake City, Utah on Saturday night after a five-year hiatus, and James celebrated by taking home his 11th win of the series! Leading up to the main, James once again laid down the fastest qualifying lap times of the day on the rough, challenging Rice-Eccles Stadium circuit, and then proceeded to take a convincing heat race win en route to the night’s main event.

Despite chilly temperatures that dipped into the low 40s, all eyes of the enthusiastic Utah crowd were on the battle for the lead, as things quickly heated between James and series rival Chad Reed. With Reed capturing the holeshot to kick off the race, James wasted no time as he moved into the second spot and went to work on Reed’s lines. Despite making passes on laps four and eight that didn’t stick, James remained patient, stalking Reed for a few more laps before eventually taking over the lead for good on lap 12. Motoring on to another impressive victory, James extended his points lead to six with just one more round of action to go!

“That was a fun race for me,” James told us at the end of the night. “Chad and I passed each other several times, which always makes things exciting. He was on it tonight, and I almost crashed a few times, so it was a challenge. We have one more race to go next weekend in Las Vegas, so I’ll continue working hard all week to try to bring home that number one plate.”

Hi! I am so glad that I came to this web site. Interesting post. I find these details useful. Thanks a lot ! It is nice to experience some people still put effort into handling their websites.

  3. Happy to experience that there are blog proprietors that worry about their blogs and not publish all kind of unusable stuff but rather try to keep it fresh and notable for the sake of their subscribers. You’ve done a good job and i thank you for that and as well for not shocking me with unuseable garbage and spam.Thank You

  4. Nice blog. I got a lot of good info. I’ve been keeping an eye on this technology for awhile. It’s fascinating how it keeps varying, yet some of the core elements stay the same. Have you seen much change since Google made their most recent acquisition in the domain?

Great article. There’s a lot of good information here, though I did want to let you know something - I am running Mac OS X with the latest beta of Firefox, and the design of your blog is kind of quirky for me. I can read the articles, but the navigation doesn’t function so good.

It is interesting to me that for BS and team Yamaha to claim to be innocent of using KC as a speed bump last Saturday he failed to show up to the last press conference of the season in LV today. Seems to me that maybe they weren’t prepared to answer any questions the press had about the incident, or I guess maybe karma could have gotten him this week on the practice track. Kind of like a criminal not testifing at their own trial, they know anything they say will only make them look more guilty.

Hey Bubba that was a awesome show you put on in SLC funny how everyone made a big deal out of Kyle but not one word abut Reed trying to put you in the cotten candy (haha) .. the E:60 thing was very kool ..you have the heart of a lion for sure and i think you’r Dad is what any Father should strive to be… a Great man indeed !
all the best from Texas .

    • jess says:

I agree with you.Congraculations to you on your championship, and that#1 plate, you deserve it.You are a great rider, and down to earth. For those of you that have issues with stewart and reed, truth is reed is a dirty racer.I seen every race and reed did alot of making contact this year, thats not a clean race.No one deducted points for him or black flagged him.

  18. lumpy says:

It has nothing to do with him being black, he is probably the best rider ever, has been great for the sport and has worked really hard to get to where he is. The fact of the matter is, this whole thing really has nothing to do with him (other than his statemenst after), it’s Chisholm who made the mistake.

James is the best, no doubt about it, he has what it takes and he does not and should not need Chisholm to do what he did. I am sure James wants to win on his own merits, not by some “LAPPPER” taking Reed out.

Chisholm does not deserve to be on the same track as either Reed or Stewart, he should be in WWE.

This was one of the best series ever, it is sad to see it go this way at the end.

    • mitch says:

Lumpy, Lumpy.. See that is the problem. All these Chad Reed fans are blaming Chisholm for ruining the series. What Chisholm did was wrong. I agree. But that didn’t ruin the series. I think Chad losing the series should be more attributed to the fact that James won 11. Chad won 3. People are so quick to blame Chisolm for Chad losing the title (assuming he does lose the title). That is like the Detroit Lions (0-16) saying the refs ruined their season for a blown call in week 16 of the season.

      • dice78 says:

Mitch, what u said is right! Reed was about 2 lose anyway. Thats why I hate when js7 gives Reed fans a show … all js7 wants is 2 make all the fans of the sport happy and make the races fun. If js7 goes out every week and wins by 10-15sec people would say its boring.
So, we are just going 2 beat that ass by 15sec next week then Reed fans will say he was sick or something like that.

        • grrrrr says:

I wish James had of whooped everyone by 15 seconds. Instead:

          Airfare to Vegas - $600
          Food and Hotels - $400
          Missing Work - $400
          Rental Car - $150
          Supercross Tickets - $100
          Watching James ride at 75%………DISAPPOINTING.

  19. mitch says:

Good luck in Vegas! Git’r'done! Don’t let some d’ckhole like Alessi decide the title!

  20. jetta962 says:

james ive been a fan for years,it’s ashame that because your the fastest rider ever you get all grief. the true is because your blk and best ever they cant stand that.and that’s a true fact.

    • nathan says:

I can’t speak for everyone but its the 21st century and my choice to be a CR fan has NOTHING to do with BS’s race. As a matter of fact his overcoming racial barriers is one of the things I admire most about him. I just happen to have followed CR’s career and like him as a rider. People seem to forget two other riders that made the ama what it is, JM and RC. Let’s not start calling BS the goat before he deserves the title, even if he will be eventually.

      • dice78 says:

son look RC cant beat js7 in SX no 1 can yet. we know RC wassssssss the best out door rider and we know he beat js7 in the MX but remember RC Rode a 450 js7 was on a 250. The year that js7 got the 450 he did like 4races and got hurt and it was almost even.Let RC try that shit now. RC and REED cant win a SX championship with js7 in it.Js7 ended RC carear just like RC end MC now REED next.3years and look at js7 wins they are not fake js7 is the greatise ever u guys better be happy js7 is not riding outdoors this year or it will be 2 perfect MX season.

        • Shane says:

Stewart physically can’t ride the outdoor races. The tracks beat him to death man get a grip on reality, don’t go saying he’d ride and win a perfect season.

  21. jetta962 says:

james ive been fan for years,it’s ashame that because your the fastest rider ever you get all grief. the true is because your blk and best ever they cant stand that.and that atrue fact

  22. nathan says:

Let’s not mistake me as a BS fan. I’m not. He is a good rider, however, that i thought more of than I do now. As far as CR taking BS out in A1 goes that didn’t happen. BS did what he does so often and hit neutral. Maybe he is an awesome rider but if u hit neutral every other race and wreck it would seem you still have a whole lot to learn before you could call yourself the best.

  23. lumpy says:

Beast450, it is obvious that you are either amateur or non-racer. There is a big difference between two racers competing against each other, one on one, than having a lapper (who is a team mate) trying to take one of the top two guys out (and yes it was intentional). That is what Chisholm did and now it appears the team (Larry Brooks) and James has condoned it.

I suspect James will win the championship (actually I suspected it before this incident) but unfortunately now it will be tainted, as tem tactics has spoiled the whole series.

James and Larry should apologize to Reed for their comments and actions. Chisholm deserves the suspension and he should man up and apologize to Reed and the fans as he has really screwed all of us of one of the best series in a long time.

Chisholm is and always will be a lapper.

    • Justa Joe says:

If the title is “tainted” by what Chisolm did intenionally or accidentally. I guess the eventual winner of the title will just have to console themselves with:

      #1 The Number #1 plate
#2 The Bonus & Prize money
#3 Their name in the record book

No doubt the eventual champion will cry all the way to the bank.

  24. John B says:

I don’t think what Chisholm did was right (if it was intentional). James should publically say he didn’t like it… and be done with it. Things are one sided here. Reed can do something and it’s all good, but if James did the same thing, he would cry “foul”. Remember round one? It was Reed who hit Stewart from the back taking him out for a DNF!!! If Reed had a DNF (caused by James) and James did not have a DNF, James would already have the chanpionship locked up. Dirung the SLC race, Stewart passed Reed clean every time, the next corner, Reed t-bones James for the lead back. Reed is consistent… and probably would be #1 if it wasn’t for James, but 11 wins to 3 says it all.

    • grrrrr says:

What are you talking about????? Watch the replays. James swapped in the whoops and cut across Reeds line, taking them both out. I’m a BS fan, but that doesn’t change what happened.

  25. Beast450 says:

ok lets clear the air on two things one anybody that is on this site bashing James is STUPID and not a real fan so why don’t you go to the reed site and cry with him. Second if you watch any of the close races, which there really isn’t reed always tries to crash James and at the end of the day James is humble, and to tell you the truth he should be pissed. The AMA continues to allow reed to make attempts on James which is unfair. Also lets not forget that reed issued a silent threat by saying that he has a good team mate aka the speedbump . Speedbump is only good for 5 laps as we see each and every week. he won’t even be close in vegas because he will be on the ground AGAIN so say hello to the true #1 JS7…….. Keep up the good work James….. rep Haines City………. Winter Haven’s got much love for ya
    believe dat.
    PS
Here is reed’s second place speech. ” James rode great tonite and I put in some hard laps this is what I needed ( aanother kick in the butt) now I’m just looking forward to the off season I’d like to thank my team and my wife ellie” his usual thing. Does he practice this in the mirror at home……. Oh yeah tell Ricky to stop hate’n

  26. lumpy says:

Kyle Chisholm is not making his sponsors look very good with what he (and the team) did at Salt Lake City.

Is this the type of rider you want to be associated with? Does your organization condone this type of tactics?

Chad Reed deserves an apology from Larry Brooks (and the team), James Stewart and especially Kyle.

James maybe talented but he has no class, especially with the comments he made after the race. I am no longer a fan of James or your team.

  27. dice78 says:

Sup my boy … this is 2 Nathan & Tom Brown and all Reed fans: Look you guys don’t have a chance, the only reason js7 was playing with reed is because we want 2 give u guys some hope and give SLC a good show. Reed and his fans did not appreciate that, so next week we r going 2 beat that ass by 15sec. All year we came from behind and beat that ass we dont need help 2 beat u guys. Are u guys crazy? Do you know who JS7 is? As for Alessi he can’t even make the main … best team, best rider ever, lol js7 …. stay healthy, stay safe … ya boy dice78 from N.Y.

  28. Frank W says:

The only person who can comment on what his intentions were, is Kyle Chisholm himself.
We can all speculate on what were his intentions, but how many times have you been riding and something happens unexpectedly and the next thing you know you are on the ground or bouncing off of another rider. It’s part of riding and it’s definitely part of racing, just ask Bailey, Fonseca, Magoo and recently Dostal. Even the best riders on the planet have miscues or momentary lapses. At this years Daytona Supercross, I was on the track, about 20 feet away from the carnage that took place in the first turn of the SX class. I think James was as surprised as the fans were that he miscalculated and crashed out. It happens
I’m not one for excuses, so I’m not trying to make or find one for Chisholm, but until he comments on it, the public at large will only be voicing speculations, not fact. Basically being arm chair quarterbacks. If in fact KC did intentionally attempt to slow Chad down or take him out, then the AMA was correct in disqualifying him.
And while I am a fan of Chad Reeds riding ability, I am totally disappointed in the way he makes excuses for his losses. Just listen to him the next time he is being interviewed. I have little respect for a rider who makes even the slightest excuses for not doing as well as he would have liked. If you do not feel that you are up to the task, then don’t take a gate on the starting line.
During the 2000 outdoor nationals, Stephane Roncada and Travis Pastrana had a battle that lasted all the way to the Binghamton round, where Travis was awarded the championship.
During that season both riders would suffer injuries, at one event, where I interviewed Travis after the awards ceremony, I asked him if the ankle injury he was riding with was the reason he had not done so well at this event. Travis responded by saying ” I can’t blame my ankle, if I was well enough to go to the line, then I cannot make any excuses.” He then limped over to a table and began signing autographs, even though he was clearly in pain. At the time he was 16 years old. I don’t know about you, but I’ll always respect a great rider who makes no excuses, then a great rider who is full of excuses and complaints.

  29. MasiisaM says:

Well..at the end of the day whatever happened did not cost Reed 6.5 seconds..MAYBE a .5…..Hell he barley stood him up….nothing more than what Reed did in a few turns before to James…

The act is BS I will agree but the overall outcome is just an angle on another excuse…

  30. David # 55 says:

It’s not James Stewarts fault that Reed’s teammate isn’t fast enough to qualify for the main event.
Bubba is straight up pimp on the track, enough said.

  31. Beast450 says:

Ok ok let the truth be told. Chad will never be as fast as you James I’ve watched you race him over the years and it seems that he always has a reason for losing. First it was that SMY was no good and as we all see that is a lie. Now its your team is playing dirty. If you all take a close look at all of the races that James and CRY BABY reed have had he always seems to crash you out. But you never complain. So what if Kyle made a mistake believe me Alessi aka (the speed bump) has come close a couple of times on taking you out, matter of fact isn’t he the same guy who said he could beat you and hasn’t done it yet. So I guess he and Chad have alot in common LOSING he only can win a championship if you don’t race, and taht’s a fact because he hasn’t won a title against you yet, so say hello to the new #2 guy. and tell him to thank Ellie again for being on his side. One last thing why is it that everytime he loses he always says ” that’s what I needed a good kick in the butt” yeah he is right you keep getting a kick in the ASS, losers make excuses winners find ways to keep winning. What I just said may hurt some feelings and if it did then you are not a TRUE James Stewart Fan but an undercover reed fan and on well . GOOD LUCK James do what you do I love it……..

  32. big b says:

    11 wins on a Yamaha!!!
Great Job this year, thru and thru…
Somehow after the disappointment of A1, you guys regrouped, worked hard and made the absolute best of the season.
No matter what happens at Vegas, you really showed everyone how it’s done!
And let Chad Reed cry about Chisolm. He NEEDS something to cry for.
Anyone could see that the track was slick, and that Kyle was all over the place.
    HE ALMOST HIT YOU TWICE!
Anyway, congrats on an amazing season, and TUNNEL VISION IN VEGAS!

  33. AC124 says:

hey james congrats on another great win!!!……. did any1 get to actually watch the race cuz i swear it didnt show on cbs?????… it sucks cuz i have tivo every single race this year

  34. AC124 says:

hey james congrats on another great win!!!……. did any1 get to actually watch the race cuz i swear it didnt show on cbs

  35. Big A says:

Im sure James didnt know that Kyle was such a tool but………….he is. I wonder what will happen in Vegas if Alessi gets a great start and James tries to pass. AMA views things a whole lot different WHEN YOUR NOT ALREADY A LAP DOWN. regardless, one of the best races ive ever seen. lets all just hope for a clean event free race to close out the series. great ride in S.L.C. James. see you all in Vegas

  36. Angel says:

You made up two big point deficits and it wasn’t because you were second best or because you had help on the race track. Your the man James. Great Job

  37. Cory Teeple says:

    Great race Bubba

The best chad can be this year or any year that james is there is second place. I am getting sick of all of his excuses for not winning. It is time to suck it up and give credit where it is due. James is superior. And winning 11 races proves it. A true champion does not make excuses.

Good luck champ in Vegas you are the king.
From your true north fans Full Throttle EH!

P.S James my son Nicholas is still waiting for his autogragh

  38. Tom Brown says:

You may not have cheated but your team did and it cheated the fans out of racing. We believe it was a team decision to do what Chisolm did. You may not be part of that decision, and probably are not, but its your team and makes you look bad. The year will be remembered by that event, not how hard you rode, and that sucks! Good luck next year; hope you race for somebody respectable.

  39. Burgess says:

hey man you won that race fair we all saw chad try to take you out in that corner and now everybody saying only reason you won is because of kyle’s antics that didn’t slow him up for a second and like you said after the race you had nothing to do that. dont be letting reed push you around after you win vegas you should throw a big party invite reed over and give him what he deserves no FIM or AMA in site.

  40. Nathan says:

Well, actually I don’t think we will ever really know who would have won SLC. That was Reed’s best race all season and I think we all know Stewart was getting scared. I’m disappointed that such an awesome battle for the lead was ruined by a nobody from the Yamaha team. It is a disgrace to Stewart, Yamaha, and the sport when races are won in that manner. But much like Reed said, if you want to play that way we can play that way too. Guess you can all just hope Alessi doesn’t get “stuck” lined up beside him.

    • alltheANSR's says:

YOU ARE NUTS. REED HAD NOTHING FOR JAMES AT SLC. JAMES PATIENTLY RODE BEHIND REED, LEISURELY MADE THE PASS AND WAVED GOODBYE. JAMES DOES NOT NEED ANYONE’S HELP. BROOKS IS A GREAT MANAGER. BEST TEAM ON THE TRACK. GET OVER IT.

      • Nathan says:

Maybe you should do a little research. The lap times were neck and neck. Oh, and “patiently rode behind Reed” I think not. If I remember correctly he attempted to take the lead in every corner. Didn’t he pass Reed 2 times before he ever got the lead??? That isn’t exactly being patient and we don’t know that he wouldn’t have lost the lead for a 3rd time had Yamaha’s goon rider not made his little move. And as far as Stewart not needing any help to win goes, that is good to hear because chances are next weekend he wont have any.

        • Justa Joe says:

Be realistic. Stewart is likely going to win 12 races to Reed’s 3 this year. Stewart essentially spotted Reed one race, and Stewart is still likely going to win the championship. Reed lost by 3.7 seconds in Salt Lake City. Are you suggesting that Chislom slowed up Reed 3.7 seconds? There is no reason to think that Reed was going to win that race.

Chisolm did the Reed fans a favor. Now they have an excuse to cling to.

          • Nathan says:

It’s just like a cheater to deny to the bitter end. At the end of the day, “B”ull “S”h** lost fans over that little “accident.” Too bad for team Yamaha that not all AMA fans have on rose colored glasses.

  41. Zac M says:

You should definitely consider getting Kyle Chisholm off your team. He made all that effort and work you’ve put in this year to make your team look good almost useless. The entire internet community as well as most people who were at the Salt Lake City race are pretty skeptical now of how San Manuel Yamaha is run. You don’t need incidents like that dragging you down - we all know you’re hands down the best rider in the sport and you don’t need things like that happening around you.

  42. austin says:

James, I was at the SLC race and that ride you put in was amazing! Good Job! Can’t wait to see u bringing home the #1

  43. Zach #321 says:

Awesome ride James, I love how Chad has to ride dirty to keep up with you, whenever you pass him you always keep it as clean as possible. I think that red #1 plate will look great on your Yamaha.

  44. CMOTO says:

    CHAD REED IS A HATER!!!!!!!

  45. CMOTO says:

JAMES WAY TOGO MAN GREAT RACE ONE MORE AND ITS YOURS

  46. zach says:

James, That was one great race. We can’t wait for Vegas, lets get that #1 plate.

  47. Rottin1 says:

Ryan! you put James’s comment in quotes??? that’s not what he said on the box… James IS one of the sports best podium speakers, I think you may have sold him short here.

  48. Nicholas says:

Nice win man, just be careful next week!!!
