A MESSAGE FROM JAMES

Hey everyone, it’s James. I’m back home in Florida now resting up after a long week of traveling, and I’m already feeling much better after the race in Paris and what happened.

Motohead, I’m not sure where you came up with the idea that I’m more focused on my TV show than on my racing? That is 100% wrong, and who or where you heard that from is wrong, as well. My whole life is dedicated racing, and it has been for 20 years.

So, me missing one MX season doesn’t mean that I’ve let the sport down in any way whatsoever. I honestly believe that I have done a lot for motorcycle racing, but I don’t expect anything back because I do it for the love of it.

I just wanted to check in to clear that up before it got way outta hand, and also just to say hello to everyone here and let you all know that I’m fine now. We are running some tests to see what exactly went wrong in Paris, and when I know you guys will know soon after. Hope all is well, and thanks for the support!

  5. Cody Gerhard says:

Hey James I have a feeling you might be interested to what I have to say you might find it quit amazing. I look up to and no matter what anyone says about you your riding tells it all I mean your the best rider out there. Your amazing on a bike your attitude is great and happy weather you win or lose. I watched everyone of your races I learn something new every time I watch you. with that new Permanente number one plate that there to stay just shows me that all your hard work and dedication to the sport pays off. I came to watch you win the championship in Las Vegas for the supercross series. I ran in the U.S. open arenacross race although I placed 12th out of 20 I was honored to ride the same track as you. I couldn’t get your autograph because I couldn’t fight through the crowed. You are a great remodel to me and other young riders out there that only imagine being as great as you one day. My name is Cody I am 15 yrs. young and I ride a WR250 for Hare scramble a KXF250 for supercross and kx85 for arenacross. This year I came in first for the local races next year I am racing the GNCC series. I know Chris Borich very well he Was the ATV champion this year for the GNCC. I was recently in Florida for a family faction. I new you had lived only 30 min. away in Haines City. At my last day in Florida I had to chose between trying to find your house or go to Disney World, I picked your house. We asked everybody that lived in Haines City if they new were you lived they had no clue. i finally asked a town cop he said to turn at a rug dealer and look for your mailbox. I finally found your house I took many of pictures by your awesome gate and mailbox. I noticed a black truck coming down the driveway im almost positive it was your dad because I saw the number seven his hat. He honked his horn when I held up the number one as he drove past. My plane left in two hours and we were about to leave we saw a driveway we thought we might be able to see your track. We pulled over because we saw a burm and we didn’t want to get any closer. We were about to leave when we noticed we were stuck in a foot of sand. It took us two and a half hours to get out. In the two and a half hours my mom got bit by ants trying to get sticks to but under the tires. I broke by dads glasses by stepping on them and he lost his phone in the sand. The rental car had an rich of sand in it along with me and my dads hair and shoes. We missed our flight and got the on the next flight at nine aclock with sand in places you usually don’t get sand. I got home at one and got up at five to go to school none of my friends believed me. When I got home I realized that the road I was on was at the bottom left hand corner of your track. If you were to look 200 yards up that road you will see the car jack my dads cell phone and the creator we were stuck in. I have a wall of all pro riders pics and things they signed. It would mean the world to me if you can reply to me or my dad at ccoach@hazleton.net. My dad always wants the best for me just like Im sure your father dose for you. If you don’t get time I understand. Thank you for reading my families adventure
    Your Fan,
    Cody Gerhard

  9. Gary Blackwell says:

    James,

Just wanted to say thank you for being a great diplomat to the sport of racing. You show people what true racers are all about. Your attitude on and off the track (99% of the time)LOL is awsome. You are a truely GREAT role model for younger riders on how conduct yourself on and off the track. I have only LOVED to watch two riders in my life, Jeremy McGrath and yourself. You guys race clean, tackful, and because you obiously love it, unlike alot of todays riders who are just in it for the money and fame.
Your love of the sport shows and gives people the desire to learn and love it!

    G

  12. James Ross says:

I am a lieutenant with the fire department here locally. I was born, raised and still live in Winter Haven. I have followed your athletic career along with other Polk County stars such as McGrady, Stoudemire, Ray Lewis and Wayne Gandy for years. My 11 year old nephew from Indiana is a huge fan. He broke his leg and had to have surgery on it trying to qualify for nationals. He is visiting us here in Winter Haven. I was hoping that maybe you could give him a call or maybe a short meet and greet to try and encourage him to recover. This would make a wonderful Christmas gift for him. I know it is a long shot but I know you are a Polk County guy at heart and a great guy. P.S. I did not tell him that I was sending you this message. Best of luck in the future. Lt. Ross OSCFR (email jros2@osceola.org)

  36. Doc "T" says:

It’s kind of a shame that we as American’s can’t support Bubba as much his fans do overseas, guess that’s democracy working at it’s finest!!! He is one of the finest riders of our time, he and the G.O.A.T have been taken this sport to a new level not see anywhere else in the world and to disrespect him as some of you do is appauling.

Way to listen to your team and Doc boss, your health is more important than anything, everything else is secondary.

hope you have a speedy recovery

  42. Scott Wulfekuhle says:

Hey man, I haven’t heard much yet on how you and your team are doing with the new f.I. 450 they made alot of drastic changes to the 2010, I cannot wait to get my hands on one at the shop where I work, and now with factory yamaha backing out of this years racing season who is building your motors? And what are you all having to do to the bike to get it ” race ready”now that the bike has been changed so much from 2009? Ive been building bikes for a few years now and I know the time and dedication that a full blown race bike needs but i love the passion of what I do for a living, just wish sometimes I could be wrenching with the big boys like your team has because I know I have the ability, qualifications and drive to make it happen! If you could get back to me about that 2010 or a resume for a Traveling mechanic :)please e-mail me back

If you ever have the time to send him an email I know that he would be so happy. We will continue to follow your riding and you never know maby one day he will share the track with you.
