James Forced To Withdraw From Genoa & Australia SX
By now many of you have already heard the news, but James is bummed to officially announce his withdrawal from the Genoa Supercross (Genoa, Italy) and the Brisbane Super X (Brisbane, Australia) due to medical reasons.
After having to sit out of the third night of racing at the recent Bercy Supercross in Paris, France thanks to a severe case of food poisoning, James returned home to Florida where he quickly recovered and jumped straight back into his aggressive testing and training program. After recent medical evaluation, however, it was learned that James’ immune system is dangerously compromised at the moment, and travel out of the country, as well as strenuous activity, could jeopardize his health even further.
“I’m really bummed out right now,” James told us. “I’ve had some great experiences racing outside of the States, and I was really looking forward to the races in Italy and Australia. This is a critical time of the year in terms of my preparation for Anaheim, though, so I’ve got to be smart and listen to my doctors and team on this one. This is not what I want, but my health has to come first.”
James is now resting and taking the necessary time to improve his health, and looks forward to the kick-off of the 2010 Supercross series when it hits Anaheim on January 9th.

I live in northern CA and already have my tickets for the San Francisco round. My son just finished racing two fall series on a 50, he took 1st in one and 3rd in the other. He is now moving up to the 65 class. He got an O’Neal Monster helmet for Christmas and I’m hoping we can meet up with you to get it autographed during the pit party. Hey man get well soon, I remember when I was going on deployment in ‘01 had an intesitnal parasite and it was no joke, knocked me down for an entire month and lost almost 60 pounds in 2 weeks.
