James Is On The Mend

James returned home to Florida to begin his post-surgery therapy immediately following  his wrist procedure last week. Though he’s already feeling much better just five days into his recovery, he unfortunately will not be racing in San Diego this coming weekend.

This from James:

On Friday of last week we decided to get an MRI done on my wrist. The idea of possibly having surgery and missing some races was a tough pill to swallow, but I was in enough pain that I knew something needed to be fixed. The MRI showed a broken scaphoid bone in my right hand, which is not something that I could ride through any longer. I went into immediate surgery that same day to have it repaired, which my doctor and team felt was the only real option.

It’s been five days now since my surgery, and my wrist is already feeling a lot better! Right now I’m following my doctor’s orders so I can get back on the track racing as soon as possible. My plan is to be back out there just as soon as I can ride without pain. It was no fun racing Phoenix and Anaheim 2 this way! There’s not an exact date yet for when I can get back on the bike, but if progress continues as is, I hope to be back very soon.

Thanks to all of my true fans out there for the support!

  7. Sharon says:

Best of luck on your recovery and I hope to watch you racing at Vegas in May! I’m sure you are already aware of it, but allsportdynamics has the best wrist braces out there. Without it I would not be able to ride at all. It has great support and allows for movement without incurring more damage.

  12. Molly says:

Hope you recover quickly! My husband and I follow the races on tv and I’ve been a fan for a long time. He turned 30 in January and I surprised him with tickets to the supercross finals in Vegas. We live in Pennsylvania, so this is a big trip for us. And, I’ve been told I’m the best wife ever (not so sure about that) but we are hoping to see you live in Vegas!
We’ve seen you race motocross but have never been to a supercross event since most are on the west coast. I decided to splurge for his 30th birthday and he is still thanking me often for the gift. We’ve never been to Vegas and are really looking forward to watching the finals out there. Hope to see you there. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. :-)

  13. Cycleguy says:

6-8 weeks from now you’ll be back out there. If you can still take the Championship after all this , that should elminate all doubt about your skill. If they keep talking after that, you know there are other motives at work …

  14. Bermuda says:

Hey James “The Flame”, whats up man? Hope u heal up fast. Its not the same watching supercross with out the fastest man on the track. Really looking forward to seeing u cut Reeds ass some more. James, hope you have a speedy recovery! Hope to see you ride in Utah, take care.

  20. Taylor says:

James hurry up and heal! I was SO disappointed to arrive in SF and realized you couldn’t race. But I’m glad Hill’s been holding it down for you. He’s been doing pretty good. But it’s nothing without you! I held my Stewart sign high in SF even though you weren’t there. I was gonna save up all the money in the world to take me and my dad and brother to Vegas this year to see you dominate again SO YOU BETTER BE BACK SOON!

  21. Timmy P says:

Maybe you broke your wrist knocking over CR’s bike. Act like a man will you.

    • Jdub289 says:

Timmy P you are a freaking immature little kid. and obviously you dont know pain everything is easier said than done so how about you re-think what you said about stewart bc it takes balls to race and do the best you can and we all know stewart is the best.

  22. clint says:

Get well soon James as I look forward to hopefully seeing you live @ the GA Dome….

  23. Cooter says:

    James,

Best wishes for a continued speedy recovery! After viewing San Diego — it’s probably a good thing you did not push riding injured any further. No doubt being part of the L&M team has inspired Josh. I’m convinced a great deal of his rediscovered confidence results from the bike and your friendship as a teammate. Yet another measure of a champion … one who leads and evokes inspiration in others, even in absence. Keep the faith and get well soon!

  24. JNSRacing says:

Heal it up James. We all know that you give 110% every time out on the track. Heal it up, and when you are ready, your millions of fans will be ready too !!! The field is wide open now and Dungey is Flyin’. We need to get That Red #1 Plate back on top of that Box. You Are The Champ !!! Aloha From Hawaii James !!! GodSpeed

  25. terry says:

  26. yamaha quad racer says:

Get well soon kid. I look forward to seeing you KICK CHAD REEDS ASS some more.

    • craigostl says:

Little Stewy just bearly won against a rookie! 1st things 1st.

      • Jdub289 says:

We will see who ends up coming up the title. and that “rookie” is a damn good rider. if he wins he deserves it but i hope james a speedy recovery and i hope that he kicks everyones ass and shuts all you dumb chad reed fans up.

      • Russ says:

You are just another Chad Reed crony who has to hate on James because your guy CR has NEVER had ANYTHING for James Stewart……he never will either, and you have to live with that and cant stand it…..HA!!

  27. I Liked reading this post. Quite some usefull fitness info in it for me :). And after reading this i think you will really like the book Burn The Fat Feed The Muscle. To me this is like the health and fitness bible. Last year i lost almost 25 pounds and gained an inch on my arms in 12 weeks. What you describe here does resemble the book a bit, but there is so much more! I added the link in my name so you dont have to search for it ;). Again, nice post and i hope you keep it up!

  28. JEN says:

  38. David B. says:

Get Well Soon! Look forward to your return, and hopefully get to see you race in Jax! (Wishful Thinking)

  39. Keith says:

To James Stewart you need to get well soon, people say the wreck is your fault and others say the wreck was Reeds fault. I say the wreck is racing.I used to race myself and people tell me if you do not have a wreck every now and then with your competition then you are not racing. As far as what I seen there was nothing either one of you really could have done. So get well soon and get back up on the bike and do some good racing with reed and the other guys.

  40. Matheus Braz says:
