2013 Anaheim 2 Supercross: Post-Race Update

Though starting the night strong and feeling more confident on the bike than in the previous two races, James was relegated to a disappointing 12th-place finish in the Anaheim 2 main event thanks to a poor start and on-track tangle with another rider. Down, but certainly not out, James walks us through his night shortly after the conclusion of round three of the 2013 AMA Supercross series in Anaheim, California.

injuries are part of a proffessionnal racer…
James you are better than the other guys, you just have to find back your confidence, to have fun, to feel like before the bad period.
if you could just wake up and forget 2010 to 2013 races and go back on the track without stress, i am sure you’d crush the guys.
So: relax, have fun, and enjoy yours next races :)
Your biggest fan.. ( i hope to see you in toronto this year, i’ll do my best to have acces to the pit)

James I can see defeat all over your face and demeanor. Forget about what people think. Without Ricky you’ve got no one exciting to think about conquering. Michael Jordan (referenced because he is the best not because he’s black) once said the reason why he became the greatest, even after being cut from the team in high school, was because he was always competing against himself. He didn’t care about beating anyone else. I don’t know you, but you are “broadcasting” defeat. If you were a warrior on the front line you’d be wiped out first because of this glaring vulnerability. Forget what people say about sir-crash-a-lot. You are at the greatest moment of your life – and close to beating the all time highest winner. You are a kingdom greater than material things like whatever your bank account says, your family says, and your influencers say. Your kids one day are going to be facing defeat, we all do, and will come to you for advice on how to overcome. RIGHT NOW you are creating what will be said and what they will say and so on. This is your legacy. Shift that small thing that changes everything in your brain only you know. There’s no security in life, just opportunity.

What I really like about you is bad or good it’s like watching Brett Favre in football, you two always give it 110% and whether your in 1st or 15th place it’s exciting and fun to watch you. And Also you never say I or Me like most riders you always say “we”- acknowledgeing your team and fans and we love ya for that buddie!

  10. Minted says:

  11. Roni says:

Josh grant…… what can you even say about that guy. CLOWN!!!!! Hang in there Bubba your TRUE fans know that you will turn it around. Its a long season

  14. craig says:

Champ, I compliment you for your focus and professionalism, in that you continue to stay positive through tough early challenges. Champion qualities for sure. Be patient, stay close to team and family and your luck will most certainly turn for the better. Your talent and abilities are obviously still awesome. The mental quality of racing champions like you is that they will always figure out different ways to compete and win, with changing motivation. No doubt you have done this many times already. With the sweet life you’ve earned and enjoy, stay “motorvated”! A purely selfish request from a fan who wants to see you on that yellow bike for a while.

  15. Dbrew22 says:

josh grant sucks js7 you’ll come back forget all the haters come back strong and feed grant some dirt

  16. 7Is1 says:

Josh grant is such a punk. So much respect for you this year James. Your such a good guy, and your starting to become the humble rider you need to be. God bless and see you at Oakland!

  17. Lance Strongarm says:

Keep the chin up James! Just practice your starts this week. 12th is a pony result but keep at it. Lot of people saying you’re a spent force but one good result will bring back the confidence. Holeshots needed!!! Get it done!
