2013 Dallas Supercross: Post-Race Update
For the first time this season, all planets were seemingly aligned for James as he went after his first Supercross win of the year in Dallas, but just as his confidence began to build, an unforeseen mechanical issue knocked him out of competition.
JS7′s performance during timed practice was impressive, but it was his winning effort in the heat race that immediately reminded Dallas’ Supercross faithful of the “old” James. A great start set him up for a short-lived battle with Ryan Villopoto, and then the mighty number seven rode off with an impressive win.
Though looking strong and in control of his destiny, however, James’ night suddenly took a turn for the worse when a mechanical problem prevented him from starting the main event.
Clearly disappointed, here’s what James had to say back at the team hauler concluding the event…

James, can you start posting some Gopro footage?? I love watching that stuff. Just pin it James its all good!!
Hey James, I’m club level this year, wish you were having the meet and greet this year, but lets do the damn thing in Atlanta!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TRUE STRENGH COMES FROM WITHIN YOU, NOT OUTSIDE OF YOU. You dug deep from within and stayed with it, through the pain with the knee and all the bad finishes, you hung in there and now its goin down..
You beat RV fair and square and that proves how fast you are, dam I’m excited for you..
GET UR DONE CHAMP..
Lets get it done this week, no less than podiun…..It’s time to take this mother f-cker over. In Atlanta please don’t make us wait 2 hours to get tickets to get posters signed. If we’re there early it bevause we’re true fans break us off with are tickets so we can enjoy the whole pit party!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey James.I would love to see you back on a Two stroke at the Two-Stroke World Championship Series.
I was looking so forward to you running in the main. It’s just not the same without you out there. Hurry back and get up front. You are a quality person and the sport desperately needs you!! Stay pinned..
He James, it really stunk that you had a mechanical. but hey , ask Mark Barnett about his mechanical during the 83 season when he lost to Bailey that year……but stay strong, and just stay healthy bro!!!
What do you think guys, did villopoto ride 100% in heat race?I didnt watch heat race so i dont know. But if he pass villopoto i think he’s back!
Hey Champ, so a haircut and a START huh? Good to see your Pops out there. Commendations to you and the Team Yellow crew for successfully navigating through such a tricky start to the season. Good to hear that the knee is feeling better and that you are feeling stronger in general. Way to stay on top of your conditioning and practice riding. You raced absolutely great on Saturday…really smooth. Continued success and health Champ.
Your mechanic needs his ass kicked
Do any of you recall just a few weeks ago Dungy’s rear shock malfunctioned at the start of a heat race? James, each week you’ve clearly improved. You obviously are the fastest person on the track but it hasn’t translated to the main. Stay focused, ride your race and it will come to you.

heres one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tgo5jtf0SbA
iv got lots of heart for you james for geting back up and riding
has any one seen the vid of the two crashes he had in the qualifying sessions i heard one was bad
Changed many clutches in my day and just can’t understand how something so simple could go wrong unless it was installed incorrectly. Would like to hear more about what actually happened. Regardless, thought he handles the situation with class and dignity.
As for Nobama, chances are high this person has mommy issues. Was either taken off or left on the tit too long as a kid although I suspect the latter. It’s either that or he’s mad because the slut his old man picked up at the bar last week is better looking than his sister bride. Boy’s from the South and has a Rebel flag in his room and a rifle in the back window of his truck, which is currently not running cuz his mom siphoned the gas out of it to buy some more crack.
NObama your e rasits like your mom dude your e a bitch
Like he needs to have their luck.
James is the best rider of the world just because he didn’t have the luck of Ricky Charmichael and Jeremy Mcgrath!
Hey bro tuff break..not sure how a clutch could go out without a crash. The bikes on the top pro level are so dialed and insane. So to make it past a mechanic like his is not going to happen. So it’s a strange one.. Get the momentum built up James, and finish off strong…
Where’s the backup bike?!
Hope to see a hard charge to get back into title contention. Go James!
Imagine that…another excuse… Interesting that “mechanical” was given. Know what is even funnier? That you idiots buy into every exact word he says, hook, line, and sinker. Kind of like the idiot (as in uninformed) masses who vote for someone due to skin color…
dude i think you just need to shut the f*** up and quite hating on james!!!that could have happend to anyone, why would he wanna make an excuse and not race being he rode real good in his heat.
hey nobama, have you ever ridin anything around a supercross track? you have no idea what your talking about. go somewhere else and leave your negative comments behind. all of these riders are talented, some have a more skills than others! stay focused, great heat race! MikeK
Sorry for the clutch dude,
the only good news on that is that will give you more time to heal.
that season should probably be called bad luck, but keep going, just make sure to be in shape for the outdors, and try to win some indors for u, your family and us
Nobama, i was about to answer to your stupid words, but talking to stupid ass, make me feel at your level. so just leave that website please.
James you are the best don’t worry you will win this and you’re the best in the world!
And Nobama you are a stupid son a of bitch.
hang in there baby! For my money you were going to win that badboy! You are a better man than me’cuz i would have been cussing up a storm. I saw your dad too! Hey Big James, I admire the heck out of your family.. great job Pop!
best regards,
Robert Vaughn Herndon IS Black Sunshine
Nice heat wIn, many more races for u bro, be patient, stay safe out there, js7 = number 1
James keep at it my son. When you ride aggressively there is nobody to touch you…NOBODY! I really hope you can get a start in a main and show the people you’re still the fastest man! Good luck!
Looking good James – bummer about the clutch.
