2013 Indianapolis Supercross: Post-Race Update
James was on point last night in Indianapolis as he led the 450SX main event with authority, but unfortunately a freak bike stall in a tight corner left him having to claw his way back up to a third-place, podium finish. Here’s what he had to say after the race…

Great job James at Indy, we were there! I was pretty p.o’d they didn’t have one james stewart shirt for sale! Thats all my 4 yr old wanted….instead he choose to get nothing… You’re the best in our eyes!
Every week I watch the race I’m looking to see you up front and winning as you are my fav rider for the past decade. I’m certainly bored to death of watching Villapoto win all the time…I was stoked to see you pass him several times in the prior race…and I wasn’t down with his racing through the medical flag area to gain a edge…that was lame. It was “legal” but totally lame. I like and respect the fact you don’t make up excuses when things go bad or wrong…it shows the Champion in you! Looking forward to your next win!
Bubba! What’s up dude! Looking awesome out there. I’m glad to see you getting the starts you’re capable of. I know you can work your way to the front but I hate to see you working harder than you have to. It’s exciting to watch, but not as exciting as watching you battle for a podium. So what your bike stalled. Bikes stall. That’s the least of what went on Saturday. You got to the front quick, didn’t crash your way out of a position, were super-fast, and still managed a podium. It’s cool seeing you up there week after week. It’s a great groove for you to get into going into the outdoor season. But I’m not ready for that yet. I’m still having a blast watching you in the more technical indoors. But yeah, you’re riding like the best in the business and riding smart. I also love that you didn’t come down hard on yourself after the fluke stall… that’s the way to keep your head in it! Great pass on Short by the way! Keep doing what you’re doing. I’m looking forward to next weekend. My prayers always. Stay awesome. Later.
James, You are looking great out there. Don’t let that bobble in the corner get you down. You got back in that race, and rode like the champion that you are. Excited to see you this coming weekend in Toronto!

The luck just ain’t going your way at the moment Bubba. Keep your head up though mate you were as you say the quickest all weekend and still managed a podium after all was said and done.I know it must have been a bitter pill to swallow as you were looking at a win for sure. Best of luck to you and the team in Toronto. The one good thing about being out of the battle for the championship is that you can go out there and JUST HAVE FUN
Keep ridn hard….you still gotta letm know!!!
you really should think about putting an electric start on your suzuki. I think you would have still won that race if you wouldve had one…their just a huge advantage !!!!! thanks good luck next week
i 2nd that
Not trying to be mean to you but that’s not very logical w/the whole electric start buddie, that not only adds weight, but It may not even be legal it the pros, and the weight is a huge deal seeing as though every single season these bike manufacturers do everything possible to make these bikes lighter for these guys and from what I know from racing personally and from interviewing these athletes about it professionally I’d say every extra pound counts, James is riding great. Personally I think he needs to keep moving forward and start some outdoors testing. But there’s still a good amount of supercross left and he likes supercross more then motocross, even though I believe he is a master outdoors, on one of two people in history to win every moto in an entire championship series.
